We are Jim and Jennifer
White, and we have been involved with llamas for about four years
now. Our 15 acre farm is situated near the base of Burnt Mountain
near Charlottesville, Virginia, hence, the name Burnt Mountain Llamas.
While originally thinking we wanted to start a llama hiking business,
we also discovered early on that we liked showing llamas. Raising
show quality llamas ultimately became our priority goal, so our
foundation herd has come from some of the best breeding programs
throu ghout
the United States. We have brought in Chilean and a couple silky
Argentine llamas to combine with North American bloodlines. Our
breeding program is based on certain criteria we strive to breed
for: conformation, elegance, large frames, and fiber that drapes.
To help us achieve our goals, we have acquired excellent herd sires.
The best one and the most famous is the nationally known Merit,
who has made a name for himself in the show ring, as well
as in siring many champion llamas for Bauernheim Llamas
and many other farms. He just joined our herd in June 2004, and
his babies will be hitting the ground in spring 2005. We believe
herd management is very important, and all of our llamas are given
the best health care with excellent medical records kept. Our veterinarians
are experienced and come out routinely. We continue to learn and
improve our management by attending llamas conferences. And our
aim is to pass this information on to others. We not only enjoy
our llamas, but we also like to be around others that also understand
our llama addiction. We have made lots of new friends through showing
llama and have enjoyed the places we have traveled for llama events.
We love to have visitors and we invite you to visit. Please contact
us for a visit.
Currently we have three young males for sale. We might
consider offers on some of the other herd members as well. Two of
the llamas offered for sale are below.

| If you are in
the market for rare genetics and want to add bone size and
wool to your herd, you need to take a close look at this guy.
His sire is Argentine Kobra, probably the best known Argentine
llama. His dam is Argentine Primavera, who has produced nothing
but top quality breeding llamas. Click below to see more photos
and information on Amador. Amador placed 3rd at the Albemarle
County Fair and will now go to Eastern Regionals in October. |

He is 100% true black and has absolutely wonderful
conformation. All we mean black as tar! His wool is drapy and
silky. He has the most presence of the three males born in 2003
and is going to be a good show llama and future herd sire. "In
The Zone" was 2nd out of 18 llamas at the The Virginia
Classic in the Juvenile Medium Wool Male class and then went
on to be named 3rd best medium male out of all age groups. He
has about 7 ALSA points so far this year, with at least three
more shows left. He is only going to get better as he matures.
This is a male that you need to see in person. Because we have
too many males, we have Blacky priced to sell at this time.
