Many Hands make light work—together we are making a difference…
Update: In the weeks & months following the Meadow Woods Dispersal LR saved 18 additional MWF llamas at the 11th Hour from a local WA Slaughterhouse. This tragedy of errors and exploitation occurred as a result of mismanagement in the chain of hands that followed the court ordered dispersal as many camelids were simply not sold, missed, mistakenly identified, or culled and sent off to Slaughter as Leftovers. These llamas are currently in a Foster home in WA awaiting transport and adoptive homes.

Update: The Lama Reserve transported 92 camelids out of Monroe, WA in early April. Upon arrival in IN, they spent several weeks in quarantine and were evaluated & treated by a veterinarian. From there they went into foster & adoptive homes. Adjusting from The Pacific North West to the extreme heat the US endured this summer has been a large factor in their on-going recovery. Great effort was taken as each individual camelid was evaluated for its specific needs, deficiencies, and issues due to the long-term neglect that occurred in their prior home. Being involved with rescue is not an easy endeavor, along with the Many Successes; there have unfortunately been a few losses.
A Huge THANK YOU to all of those who contributed to help the Meadow Woods Camelids—92 Llama’s and Alpacas are now finding Forever Adoptive HOMES!

Mission Statement: Create, develop, and maintain listings of Reserve Camelids who can ultimately re-enter the population, as ILR recognized individuals, for their determined breeding status, performance abilities, and as fiber producers & companions as well as to promote the camelid lifestyle by providing educational opportunities and mentor support to new camelid owners. Lama Reserve also seeks to provide a buffer and to bridge the gap between the current capabilities of the CRC- camelid rescue coalition comprised of- SELR, NELR, SWLR & LANA lifeline, and the current state of affairs in the camelid industry, most notably the recent dispersals of large quantities of camelid holdings.
