| Located on 35 acres in the beautiful mountains of southwestern Virginia, Dove Oaks Farm is home to 30 llamas, four lazy but lovable house cats, and Ron and Libby Boyd. Ron and Libby have been raising and showing llamas for 15 years. Through the years, they have purchased llamas from all over the United States in order to bring the most desirable characteristics to their herd. Their show experience has made them particular about conformation. And Libby spins and knits, so fiber is important, too. Here are some of their llamas.
Angelina is Chilean of the Argentine type. Just a youngster, she already shows great promise. At the 2005 Virginia Classic she was first in her juvenile class and third overall Medium Wool Female. She has very solid, correct conformation and striking good looks.
Ron traveled to Paul and Sally Taylor’s ranch in Montana to find this outstanding herdsire. Gossamer, a full Chilean, is an unusual taupe-gray, with heavy bone, fluid movement, and a wonderful easy-going disposition. Add heavily tasseled ears and you have everything you could want in a mate for your females. Breeding fee: $750.
