E-Newsletter June/July 2006

Llama Enthusiasts,

This newsletter is a combination newsletter for June and July. We have lots of updates in this newsletter and many online events coming up to tell you about. Hopefully everyone caught our interview in LamaLink magazine and learned a little more about what we are about. If you did not see the interview but would like to, just contact us. We are just beginning our journey, so please join us as we begin to market llamas beyond the llama industry and bring in new llama owners. Several people have requested information on the online futurity, and that information is below.

FALL Sale Re-Named To The Fall Frenzy Sale

In our last newsletter, we had announced a contest to send in names to help us rename our October sale. Ellen Prosser sent in several good ideas for names and she will receive a free LIFETIME rotating banner, a FREE listing under your state in our Breeder's directory currently being put together, and 2 FREE private treaty ads . Congratulations, Ellen! Everyone can start sending in your consignments now by logging into LlamaSalesList.Com and clicking on "Seller". However, we are only accepting females at this time. The males will only qualify by winning in the Online Futurity. 4-5 males will be in the sale.

Newsletter Advertising

Advertising in our newsletter is a great way to reach many subscribers in an economical way. The cost of the ads are: Full size ads will cost $75 (1X), $60 (2-6X), $50 (7-12X). Smaller size ads cost less - please inquire. In addition, we will start archiving the old newsletters on the LSL website, so your ads will be visible for quite some time. Ad materials will generally be due the first week of each month for that month's newsletter, but we'll be fairly flexible with this. We can design ads for you, and even create Flash (animated advertisements) - please inquire about the costs.

Other Upcoming Events

LSL Online Futurity - Deadline coming soon (August 20). Complete information and entry forms are available online now. Visit our website and click on Futurity off the menu to get more information and forms. The judges for this futurity are Deb Yeagle, Linda Hayes, and Marilyn Nenni. Videos will be required of all entries. Premiums and rosettes will be awarded. What is the purpose and how does an online futurity work? This has never been done before, at least not with llamas. Basically, we are doing this to add even more credibility to the llamas in the online auctions. For female llamas, the futurity entry is not a requirement, but for males, it is required to get into Fall Frenzy. All entries must have a video, and all videos will be the same as far as timing and the sequence of walking, standing, and camera point of view. Very specific procedures on how to record are included with the entry forms. Once the recording has begun, the camcorder must remain on until the very last feat is accomplished - no editing! Then all the videos will be placed on a DVD for the judges...see the website for more information.
