E-Newsletter January/February 2006

Dear Llama Enthusiasts,

We want you to know that we really enjoy what we do here. It was January 2003 when we first launched LlamaSalesList.Com as a free listing service. Back then, it was nothing more than a hobby, and I had no idea where this project would go or how it would develop. It definitely has become more than I ever thought it would, and we just keep thinking about new ideas and things to offer. Some of these ideas will come to fruition this year and some will take longer. Some ideas have not worked or caught on, like the online futurity, but it is this kind of creativity and off the wall ideas that make us different! And we did get some entries for that! We have no regrets for trying it out. We like being the unpredictable ones.

March Madness Is Coming! March 3-10, 2007. Deadline extended to 2/15/07

There are going to be some changes in the next March Madness online auction. If you have been hesistent about consigning, you might want to read on. For this next sale, we are having a special for consignors. The cost to consign will be $50 per plus 10% of sale price if the llama sells. NO $100 "NO-SALE" FEE IN THE NEXT AUCTION! We have cut our fees to encourage more entries for this sale. This is a great opportunity to sell. How can any breeder in the llama industry pass up an opportunity to sell, especially at the special prices we have given? Take advantage of our offer. We still have our Selection Committee in place, and they have done a great job in screening llamas for LSL. This is not all.....

We are also changing the way the bidding takes place in the next auction. The next auction will not have reserves, per se. Opening bids will meet the reserve automatically. This worked very well in the Pleasure Valley Llamas auction in 2006. The Seller can make the opening bid whatever price they want. Also, "Buy It Now" will only occur during the sale preview but not once the auction starts. For those that want to be sure they get the llama they like, they will have the opporuntiy to do so just before the auction starts.

We have brought back the paper application as well. You can download the application off the front page at www.llamasaleslist.com. The fastest way to consign is online at www.llamasaleslist.com/auctionsite. Login, click on "Seller" off the menu, and click on the consignment option. Remember the deadline is 2-15-07. Llamas will begin being posted as accepted, and this will determine the lot order. A limited number of males will be selected and worked into the lot order. Males will be selected soon after 2-15-07. Males require videos unless a Top Ten placer at LFA, Celebrity, or ALSA Nationals or have their ALSA ROM.

Online Production Sales being planned/ to be announced

We expect to be announcing some upcoming production sales in the near future. We also have room for production sales this year. Just inquire if you are interested in the details.

Breeders' Directory - Update

The directory is still on pace to be completed by the end of this month/very early March. LSL will be at the SSLA conference in Georgia in March, and we will have information on our services, as well as the first edition of the Breeders Directory on CD.

If you have not signed up for the Breeders Directory, but are still interested in it, you are running out of time to be included. This is the last month to join to be a part of all materials including any printed material. You can still join after this month, but you will only be included in the online directory for 2007. We will update the directory once a year in January, and those that joined late in 2007 will then be added to the 2008 printed materials.

Coming Soon! The Herd Sire Directory

As we finish up the Breeders Directory, we will then formulating and working up an example of how the Herd Sire directory will look. We are still working out the details for this directory and whether or not it will be limited to criteria or open to any breeding male. Stay tuned for details.

Web Design Services/Start Updating Your Own Website Yourself

Burnt Mountain Web Design may soon fall under LSL as one of our services provided. Due to increase demand, lately we have been offering a "Control Panel" at additional cost to the design of the pages we do. This allows the owner of the site to make their own updates to text, photos, or add additional llamas or materials without needing to have any web design knowledge. We can create this to any website, even ones we did not design, provided the web server they are using has the right technology. Any site that we host does have the right technology. If you would be interested in more information on this, just reply to this newsletter.

Newsletter Advertisements

Advertisements the like the ones shown below are available to anyone wishing to advertise in our newsletters. For the March newsletter, we are offering a discount for March Madness Consignors of $25/ad for an ad the size of Argentine Don Novello's ad shown below (ad design cost not included). Just submit your ad to us, and will include it, complete with a link in the ad as well.
